Accessibility

Our commitment

One Worship Scotland wants this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced-motion settings. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We are not fully there yet, and the honest list of gaps is below.

What we've done

• The site is built with semantic HTML — real headings, landmarks and lists — and declares its language as British English.
• Every page works at any width down to a small phone, and reflows rather than scrolling sideways.
• Animation is switched off automatically if your device asks for reduced motion.
• Images that carry meaning have text alternatives.
• Buttons and links show a visible outline when focused by keyboard.

Known problems

We would rather tell you than have you find out. As it stands:

• Form fields don't show a strong focus outline. When you tab into a text box the border changes colour, but there is no outline. That is harder to see than it should be.
• There is no "skip to content" link, so keyboard users pass through the navigation on every page.
• Some secondary text is low contrast. Smaller grey captions and labels do not yet meet the 4.5:1 ratio AA asks for.
• Ticketing and payment happen on Eventbrite and Stripe, whose accessibility we do not control.

These are on our list to fix.
